Checkout these facts : From many years, we have been taking just two meals everyday, last meal of the day is almost always before 7 PM, few days in a month we voluntarily skip last meal of the day (for their own reasons on their own wish), bulk of our food is vegetables and fruits from our garden, staple food is positive millets, no dairy, no wheat, no refined oil, no sugar, no processed foods, no stored foods, no white rice and no forced eating. This set of eating behaviours developed naturally when we started respecting hunger.
Quitting some commonly consumed foods for health or spiritual well-being is called fasting. It may involve quitting a particular food (like wheat), or eating in a particular way (last meal before 7 PM), or skipping meals and so on.
Just few facts about fasting are enough to make you understand its power:
Any physical, emotional, psychological illness, minor or major, starts with the symptoms of reduced hunger (inappetence). The inappetence lasts till the complete recovery from the illness. This means that, our body has an inbuilt mechanism to heal by reducing the food intake. Healing cannot happen by overriding this natural mechanism.
Fasting is the only proven natural remedy that works for all diseases, including Cancer. Yoshinori Ohsumi was awarded Nobel Prize in 2016 for proving that fasting initiates autophagy (self-destruction) of cancer cells in the body. No other cancer remedy is awarded a Nobel!
Fasting is practiced by all animals, birds and people of all religions and geography in the entire world from thousands of years.
Fasting is the first as well as last line of healing in our body. If it cannot be healed through fasting, it cannot be healed ever!
Fasting is a spiritual feast.
Fasting breaks the hold of the world on you.
Fasting is the first principal of medicine.
Fasting is the easiest yet best way to develop patience.
Fasting is the best choice when you have nothing to eat or have access to only junk food.
Fasting is the nature's way of detoxification.
You will lose the joy of eating, if you don't practice fasting.
Whenever our body gets sick or tired, it needs a rest from food. This is the reason for lack of appetite during sickness. From 2018, we (not children) have practiced various fasting techniques like 21 days fast, intermittent fasting, water fasting, fruit fasting, weekly fast, liquid fasting and so on. Every time we fasted, we found a tremendous improvement in our physical & mental health. We regularly practice fasting.
