Just like the air we breathe has been polluted, the water quality has also degraded rapidly during last century.
Unpolluted river, well and lake water is the best water for supporting our well-being. So, we chose to live beside an evergreen lake! We use alum to coagulate debris, colour and smell from the lake water, followed by filtration with gravity based ceramic/carbon filter (non-electric). We have been drinking and cooking with this water from 2022. And it feels to be good.
Unpolluted water contains the following components:
Dissolved Gases: Oxygen, Nitrogen & Carbon Dioxide
Dissolved Minerals: Calcium, Magnesium, Potassium, Sodium, Bicarbonate
Organic Matter: Dissolved Organic Matter (DOM), Low levels of suspended solids
Microorganisms:
Beneficial bacteria: Play a crucial role in the natural breakdown of organic matter.
Algae: Photosynthetic organisms that produce oxygen.
Drinking unpolluted lake water offer several potential health benefits beyond basic hydration:
Rich in Minerals: Natural water contains essential minerals like calcium, magnesium, potassium, and trace elements. These minerals contribute to:
Strong bones and teeth: Calcium is crucial for bone health.
Muscle and nerve function: Magnesium and potassium play vital roles in muscle and nerve function.
Heart health: Some minerals may help regulate blood pressure and support heart health.
Improved Digestion: Natural water often has a slightly alkaline pH, which can help neutralize stomach acid and improve digestion.
Hydration and Detoxification: The purity of natural water allows for efficient hydration and may aid in the removal of toxins from the body.
Taste and Refreshment: Many people find the taste of natural water to be refreshing and more enjoyable than tap water.
Reduced Environmental Impact: In some cases, sourcing local natural water can reduce the environmental impact associated with bottled water production and transportation.
Important Note:
Purity and Safety: It's crucial to ensure the water source is clean and uncontaminated. Look for reputable sources and consider having the water tested for safety.
Mineral Content Varies: The mineral content of water can vary significantly depending on the source.
80% of the human brain is water and 80% of a living tree is water. A person can live about a month without food, but only about a week without water. Water is part of a deeply interconnected system - what we pour on the ground ends up in our water, and what we spew into the sky ends up in our water.
